Ernest VonZell, former publisher of medical texts, owned big dogs until his retirement - and a smaller house. Then came "Briggs", a black scottie and constant companion. One afternoon a few years ago, Briggs ventured into a swimming pool and, struggling, quickly rolled on her side. Ernest jumped in and saved his dog.
He set out to find a life vest. He searched and searched for a small dog vest with lateral support...he found none. The rest is history.
